Description

It was a major Solar storm of R5 level, the highest level on the meteorological space scale. It didn't happened since 2003. It was visible on low latitude of lots of European countries and especially in my surroundings. Nothing was planned and I packed my gear quickly when I received the alert from my SpaceWeatherLive app.. The patchwork is a resume of picture samples spread over 30mn of time. It presents the unbelievable variation of colors that were a mix of green and pink/red ionized particles visible up to the zenith some times. Unfortunately no time to drive to get a more decent foreground, I preferred enjoying the spectacle up to 1am.
